Stop press again...

York mapWe struggled to find a replacement speaker at short notice when our publicised speaker on the wonderful new York Historic Towns Atlas had to pull out. Elizabeth Smith from Dringhouses Local History Group very kindly offered to come along instead, to talk about John Close. But at the last minute Dr Stefania Merlo Perring from the atlas team has agreed to come along as publicised. So apologies to Elizabeth and we hope we will be able to hear from her in 2018.

Stefania, a post-doctoral researcher at the University of York, will be talking about Mapping York, the Historic Towns Atlas.

The evening starts at 7pm with a short AGM of the History Group, followed by the talk at 7.30pm. It takes place at Clements Hall in Nunthorpe Road, and all are welcome.

You can become a member of the History Group for a small sum of £5 for 2017, which gives you reduced entry (£1) to talks. Non members are also welcome, at a cost of £3 on the door.

There are a small number of free parking spaces near Clements Hall. It is also easily accessible by buses stopping in Blossom Street (walk along Moss Street opposite the Reel Cinema). If you have any queries please contact us via Clements Hall on 01904 466086 or email enquiries@clementshall.org.uk
