History walks around Bishophill

We still have a few places on two of our guided history walks on Saturday 2 July 2022.

Our morning walk is full but in the afternoon we have

2 pm Colin Hinchcliffe - a guided walk around Bishophill, starting outside the porch of Bishophill Junior Church, Bishophill Junior. The walk will explore the rich history of Bishophill, dating from Roman times to the present day. (Maximum number 12)

2 pm Catherine Sotheran - this walk will start from the sandwich shop at the Lendal Bridge end of Rougier Street, just inside the bollards. We will wend our way around the Micklegate area, through Bishophill and finish either at Rowntree Park or continue over Millennium Bridge and back along New Walk to Skeldergate Bridge. The full walk is a gentle 3.5 miles but people don't have to do it all. Not a lot of history or facts, just lots of little details often unnoticed. Wet weather option: light rain, umbrellas and rain coats. If heavy rain, postpone/possibly retire to the pub (maximum number eight).

Please contact us on clemhallmembership@gmail.com if you would like to come. The cost is £1 for group members (if you haven't already paid for talks) and £3 for non-members.
